[PCB_FORUM] Re: mil-std-1686 class 2

Sam
The reason for the Symbol, is for handling after Assembly. Most CM's
handle all boards as if they have ESD sensitive parts but Customers
Don't.

Attached is the ESD Symbol that we use on the silk_Assembly information,
which is different then the one in IPC-D-325A.

If you're not worried about handling after assembly than you can just
add a note to the assembly drawing like:

This assembly contains electrostatic discharge (esd) sensitive
devices; Static free handling is required per MIL-STD-1686, Class 2

Group:
I'm trying to do a assy drawing for our boards and i using examples from
ipc-325A book. Is there another way to handle ESD parts besides
MIL-STD-1686?
TIA
Sam
