Do we need to change our land patterns for this?
I have not looked into it yet but the first place
I would go, c'mon now everybody with me here, is
my board assembler. They would have to have done
some research into what is necessary if they plan
to switch to lead free. Do any of the various
design groups have any info on it?
Since I have not tried this yet I wouldn't have
normally answered, but since no one else did...

Hello Everyone,
I am curious as to what others are doing with their land patterns now that lead free compliance is becoming an issue. Are you not worrying until a customer asks? Or taking the pre-emptive approach? Are you planning on using the new IPC7351 or creating your own rule of thumb (based on info from other sources). Do you plan on keeping separate libraries or trying to "optimize" one pattern for both? So far we have not had to address this but I would like to have an idea of what I am up against before the proverbial fan accident.
Thanks in advance,
