[PCB_FORUM] Re: exporting .dxf files from Allegro

I agree with you Kathy, then they can locate, highlight and show element on components or nets. Much better for review or approval! If that is what you need to do.

By the way, if you create a pdf of the schematic in Adobe v.6.0 or greater, they can do a text search across the entire schematic for ref des or all occurrences of net names with the free 6.0 or greater free reader. Works great!

Why don't you just have your customer use the free Allegro Viewer ? Beats reading in dumb graphic data and gives them much more information about the design.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] exporting .dxf files from Allegro

Greetings all,

Can anyone tell me how to export a board file out in .dxf format?  I’m running Allegro 15.2 Design Expert and it appears that I’m having problems because of a missing conversion file.  (.cnv)?

I need to export the routing, vias and component outlines if possible.

Thanks,
