[PCB_FORUM] Re: dynamic shapes (planes) not showing holes correctly?

Do you happen to have two shapes in that location ?

Hi,

Thanks, but same results...  I also read the file back into 15.2,
and same thing.  I DBDoctor'd, same thing...

I'll
check out the document you reference.

Best
Regards,

Austin

  Hi Austin,

If your using
  15.7 try the following:

In your Global Shape Parameters form set the
"Thru pin" DRC  Oversize value to 0.01.

Then Update to
  Smooth.
*or* ix 0 the shape to regenerate it.

Check the following
PDF document "Best Practices: Working with
  Shapes"

  Hi
  Dennis,

  I
have done all three, to no avail.  I'm off maintenance, so I don't
believe I can report this to them, unfortunately.

  Best
  Regards,

  Austin

    Hi
    Austin,

    I see you found one
of t he weak points in Cadence – and a pain in the butt.  Cadence has
    always had problems with shapes.

    Sometimes going to
smooth doesn’t even work to update the shape, when you need to update DRC
    before performing a smooth.

      Go to
      Tools/Update DRC

      Go To
Setup/Drawing Options/Status/ pick smooth box – pick update to Smooth
then
OK – see if that fixes it, if that doesn’t fix it go to # 3.

      Are you showing
us a negative plane?  If so go to Setup/Drawing Options/Display/ and
turn on filled pads, and see if that fixes it.

Also report this to Cadence – the more they hear about plane issues they
might give the planes more attention.

    Good
    luck

    Hi
    Sue,

    Fill mode is
    already set to smooth.

    Thanks,

      Hi,

move this component off the board, then back on, the holes come through
