Hello Fred,

If we're talking single sided, rectangular holes can be done, but the hole
will be punched. Therefore you need a die, which is custom-built and can be
costly.

If the hole will be PTH'ed, perfectly rectangular holes aren't doable. The
hole wall needs a clean surface in order for the plating  to bond with. And
a clean hole can only come if its drilled. Punching leaves a rough surface
which is unsuitable for plating.

I've heard of holes being laser-drilled, but I'm not going there, at least
not in the immediate future.

Hi,
I use Allegro Design Expert and I wanna create a padstack for a special
connector.
Well, I want to know if it's possible to design a pad with a rectangular
drill hole...
I have imagined a solution : I enable multiple drill and make a row of
circles...But it's not exactly what I want...
