[PCB_FORUM] Re: diff pair by area

Hi Austin,
I have my BGA pitch as 24mil. I need my diff within pair spacing to be
16mils & line width to be 4 mils outside the constraint area & 5mils
spacing/4mils line width in the constraint area. Can this be done by
maintaining the line width as 4mils in & out the constraint area.
Regards,
Kumaran.

Hi Kumaran,
We routinely run our differential pairs through 1mm pitch BGAs maintaining
our trace width/gap...no necking required. I haven't done any less than
1mm
pitch BGAs. I am curious, what is your stack-up/differential
impedance/BGA
spacing?
Regards,
Austin
Hi Gerry,
So no other possibilites other than reducing the line width to 3.99 ?
Regards,
Kumaran.
