[PCB_FORUM] Re: anyone running Allegro on Linux

Gene,
We are running one Linux machine that we use to test software.

Cadence officially supports only EL3 and EL4 depending on the
version, although I have been told that non-enterprise versions
        of Linux also work.

We have one issue to date. The CDE (common Desktop Environment)
is not supported, only Gnome, which causes a problem with one
of our programs. (Personally I prefer CDE)

I had a machine running Linux and it worked very well. Faster than the
same machine running
XP. I think it does better memory management than XP and allows you to
access more that 3GB.
Benchmarks I did with a large DRC run showed it to be much faster. No
crashes or issues
that I came across.

Is it supported by Cadence? Does it work well for you? Any issues?
