[PCB_FORUM] Re: Voting

Matija,

The top x issue list is more of an recommendation to Cadence. Think of it
like Christmas wish list.
Anyway, I did not mean to discourage anyone from submitting issues that
are already being worked on.

But think about the following for a minute. A few years ago the top entry
was the request for dynamic shapes. A true enhancements. Well we got it
and it is quite
awesome to work with if you understand what is does and how the property
stuff works that is related to it. Now, would you
rather have a feature like this on the top five or a fix for the behavior
of the open file dialog box?

If you have an open service request and need it to be fixed asap, well the
time to get it fixed is in direct proportion to the number of users
reporting the issue. You use the top x issue list for this, well chances
are that you will prevent a new enhancement from
being implemented. Just some food for thought.

Best Regards
Andreas

Hello,

No,
the purpose of the top x is to give the company a *sense of urgency* from
the prospective of users.
Thus on the top x list there must be items:
-that are in the works but are not resolved yet, but the user need them to
fix RASAP.
-that are not in the works but shuld be taken into consideration for the
users prospective.
-that are not in the works because the company doesnt know are "problems"
for the users.

The company is then free to add other items that they feel are /see as/
important and build the final list of things to work on.

Bye
  Matija
