Thanks George,
Anyone from Cadence know if this (only going back to 13.6) on pc will be
fixed in the future?
Steve

Steve:
We have boards that go back to version 8 (maybe some earlier). The 3
version limit is for maintenance support of the software and has nothing
to do with converting older versions to newer. Uprev should continue to
bring older versions into the latest version.
The only proviso is that we have to use UNIX to uprev some of the
earlier boards as the PC uprev will only work back to 13 or so.

Thanks George,
I thought that the uprev was only supported back 3 revisions?
That's why I was starting this effort before Rev 16.
is anyone clear on this? Is there a 3 year support rule?
Steve

Stephen:
We have found it more cost effective to delay uprev until it is
actually needed.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Uprev Designs 13.6 to 15.5
Hello,
I will be taking on the task of up-reving all designs at
our company from 13.6, 14.x, 15.x to current 15.5
I would like to know if anyone has done this in the past
and if there is something I need to look out for.
I do understand that the rules have changed from 13.6 to
14.x to 15.x and the way we decided handle that is to just up-rev
everything and as we respin our designs we will update the rules. Is
this a preferred process?
Thanks,
Steve
