Hi all,
For those of you who plan to attend the CDNLive Conference in Santa
Clara next month, I'd like to point out that there will be two separate
Tech Panels in the SPB Track - one devoted to PCB issues and another
devoted to Packaging issues. The Packaging Tech Panel will take place
on Monday afternoon, the PCB Tech Panel will take place Tuesday morning.
As many have pointed out, CDNLive is different from its predecessor,
ICUG, and some of the tracks are treating Tech Panels the same way many
conferences do - pick a topic, assemble a group of speakers who give an
overview of their opinion, then open the Panel for discussion. ICUG
Panels were traditionally open Q&A with the audience, where the panel
included key people from Cadence who could answer the group's questions
about product functionality and futures.
The two SPB panels at CDNLive are currently set up the same way the Q&A
sessions at ICUG were. We have identified a number of different
"disciplines" within Package and PCB design and asked Cadence to staff
the panel with a technical expert for each discipline, in addition to
engineering management and a (single) representative from Product
Marketing. You can find the different disciplines and technical experts
for each panel on-line:
http://www.cadence.com/cdnlive/na/schedule.aspx Packaging Technical
Panel (Click on session 5.5 to see the panelists)
http://www.cadence.com/cdnlive/na/schedule_tues.aspx PCB Technical Panel
(Click on the first item in Track 4 to see the panelists)
Cadence is making a significant commitment to these panels in terms of
people's time and travel dollars. To make these panels as productive
possible, I'm asking the members of this list to provide seed questions
for each panel (Packaging and PCB). As with any live event, we'll have
to balance written questions against questions from the audience at the
event - but I'd really like your help in ensuring that we have a list of
meaningful questions to draw from. You can mail questions to me at my
email address (twesterh@xxxxxxxxx) or simply reply back to the mailer
list. I'll compile a list of the questions for the moderators of each
panel to select from.
Please consider taking a few minutes of your time to provide questions
for these panels; your efforts will be greatly appreciated.
Todd.
