[PCB_FORUM] Re: So what was the solution to the shape problem?

Nope. This is not the case, for me anyway.
I have done all of the things suggested so far except
deleting the voids that Todd suggested. I want to try
that but need to get this finished. I don't think that that will help as there are no voids that I am aware of.
I have also drawn a void in the "under" shape to clear the
shape I added. It made no difference. I am now in the
process of voiding all of the vias and pins but one
(or more) of them results in a "after voiding there is
no shape left" error. I am in the process of narrowing
it down to the one (or more) causing the problem. As
I stated before, every time I select some vias to void,
I get a 40 minute delay while it processes.
I individually zcopied all of the shapes to another layer
and got the same result. This is extremely frustrating.
Also, the boundary subclass is not new to 15.2. I have
been using it since at least 15.0. Converting to 15.2
has not been a problem as I am still at 15.1 with
the latest SR installed.

By the way, thanks for all of the excellent suggestions.
I wish one of them would have solved the problem. I was also
hoping one of the Cadence monitors might respond.
Ah, well, back to my hammer to beat on it some more.

One of the things I have always said about Allegro is it
almost always has more than one way to "skin a cat".
This is a prime example of that. I used Expedition for
3 years and it rarely had more than one way to provide
solution to a problem. I missed that and am now glad
to be back to Allegro even with it's anomalies.

Thanks,
Kevin

Because of the way dynamic shapes work, the shape fill is probably blanked because it is under your real shape. Try turning the shape boundaries on: Display > Color Visibility > Stackup > (whatever layer) Boundary and see if the shape boundary is visible in that area...

"Film contains DRC error"
Shape at "location" contains void at "different location" which
touches another shape.
Any fix for this... seems some of you Gurus had something. I am
now in version15.2 S032. The "location" is the starting vertex of the main shape fill. There
is nothing resembling a void or even "another shape" at the problem
location. Thanks
