[PCB_FORUM] Re: Schematic drafting practices

Hello Austin
No I didn't mean all Eng's
Years ago I did train Eng's on how to use PCAD MD
Schematic Capture and I did see some Eng's
who were outstanding in their drawing style
while others sucked real bad. It's funny
though as it's their/your language to communicate
their/your intentions. Something like the English
language some are masters and some speak pigeon.

Thanks group for the replies and suggestions, keep them coming.
Over time I plan on compiling the info I gather
and create a booklet of best practices
and boy I don't have to go far for samples
of graphic pictures of "Do's" and "Don'ts"
Cheers
Frank

Hi Alan,

I guess I'll have to defend the honor of at least SOME of us engineers...

I didn't take it he was talking about (all) engineers in general, but the
specific ones he was dealing with, or I, too, would have taken to defend my
schematic practices. It's rare (or never ;-) that I see schematics that are
as well documented and laid out as the ones I draw. I do not consider them
just a way to get a netlist, like some do, I believe they are =>the<=
documentation source for an electrical design.

Austin
