Hi Jim,
It could be a number of things that would help speed up your design, try one
or more of the following
1. Right click the PCB Editor icon, properties and add -p c:\temp to the
shortcut after allegro.exe.
This will redirect the jrl file to the local drive you specify and will
remove lots of saves to network drive. I've seen this increase performance
drastic.
2. Setup, drawing options, display and set fill mode to disabled until you
need to look at shapes and then click smooth and update to smooth.
3. I've in some cases seen that if graphics acceleration is enabled it can
descrease performance. So try setting it as low as possible and see if it makes
a change. If it does, slowly increase the setting until you see that
performance starts going down again.
Hope this helps.

Hi folks,
Quick question and I?m pretty sure I?ve seen this subject floating around
before. Allegro 15.5.1
I?m nearing the end of routing a very large and dense design. I?m down to
cleaning up the power signals (3.3v & gnd?etc) and Allegro is draggin? big
time. What is the easiest way to reduce the time between mouse clicks when
hooking up these large pin count nets? Currently is about 20 seconds minimum
between clicks.
Change the shapes from dynamic to static? I?ve turned off the on-line DRC,
but that didn?t seem to help. I know it?s probably something really obvious,
but my brain has turned to mush these last couple days.
Thanx in advance.
