[PCB_FORUM] Re: ?????: Re: NET NAMES

I have written a nifty SKILL program to do it. You simply click on the
pin and it adds the text of the netname to the top silk. It also
attaches the text to the pin, so if it gets moved, the text goes with
it. It was an extremely easy program to write and I encourage everyone
to start writing these types of programs. If I can do it, anyone can!

Sorry, but my employer frowns on me distributing things I've done on
their time. Otherwise, I'd post it here.

A SKILL routine could do it, or do an Allegro script that writes a "Show
Element" do disk and calls a perl script to grab the net name and dump a
script to write the text near the pin, that is called when the perl
script returns to Allegro.

start Script1 >
 Click the pin >
 Script1 does a "Show Info" and writes the info to the disk >
 Script1 runs perl script that extracts netname, creates Script2, then
exits >  Script 1 runs Script2, which inserts the netname as text near
the pin.
