[PCB_FORUM] Re: RS274X, neg planes, import gerbers into Allegro

Richard,

Thanks for the reply.

I use anti etch for plane splits. Still looks FUBAR when imported.

Gary

Are you using traces to contain or extrude your negative plane. RS274X
needs to use the Anti Etch layer to split the plane.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] RS274X, neg planes, import gerbers into Allegro

Hey guys,

Allegro 15.5.1 and XP Pro

I am one of the hold-outs still using 274D (Gerber 6x00).

I also still create my planes as negative.

After creating my gerbers, I use an Allegro database to read in the
gerbers for checking.

When I create my artwork using RS274X, then import the gerbers into an
Allegro database, the negative planes look very weird.

The plane splits are not right and the plane outline is also FUBAR!

In the Global Dynamic Shape Parameters form, I have the Artwork format
set to Gerber RS274X under the Void controls tab.

Anyone know what's going on with this and how to get RS274X negative
plane gerbers to read correctly into an Allegro database?

Thanks for any help!

Regards,

Gary
