Yes, in this case this is the right way:
Export a place_txt.txt file (export placement)
Remove all components in this file exept those you wish to be refreshed
Remove (unpace) in allegro those components
Import place_txt.txt (File-Import placement)
Tip: in order to avoid this, i create a subclass named UNUSED_Top and
UNUSED_BOTTOM in RED_DES class
When i don't want a text on silkscreen, i change it from SILKSCREEN-TOP(BOTTOM)
to UNUSED_xxx so i can
get it back without refreh symbol

Objet : [PCB_FORUM] refresh silkscreen text issue
I have 1000 components with package symbol = 0402, in my first revision for
silkscreen placement I have deleted the violating silkscreen text on some of
these 0402 components(around 300). Now in my new revision I need to bring back
the silkscreen for few 0402 components since I have room for text placement. If
i go for update package symbol checking option 'reset symbol text location'
then this resets text on all 0402 symbols..
I tried the workaround of deleting and placing the components for some diodes (
since they r less in number) to bring the text back. Deleting and bing back
these
anyone has some ideas..please help me out.
Thanks much in advance..
Raj.
