[PCB_FORUM] Re: ?????: RE : ?????: Re: IDF import to PROE

Guys,

You can have your pad as any shape you want. It's a little extra work than
just a setting in the padstack editor, but not too bad:

- create the custom shape for the pad as a drawing file (*.dra): in this case
when you get near the corners, change the segment type to *arc* to make your
rounded corners.

- in Setup -> Drawing Size, set the symbol Type to *Shape* (this will create
the companion symbol file as *.ssm).

- In the padstack editor (Pad_Designer, file is *.pad), set Begin Layer,
Soldermask Top and Pastemask Top Geometry as *Shape* then put the name of the
shape you created with rounded corners in the Shape field

Good luck!

this works fine for longer rectanular pads but not for smaller pads like 40x50
or so

What is your need?
Having smd pads rounded?
So you have to redefine your padsatck, creating it with oblong rather than
rectangle.

Hi all,

Yes, it is in continuous line. This BRD use to be able to be imported into the
PROE. But after numerous changes on the schematic, I want to do a final check
on the placement but Mechanical just could not import in the emp/emn files.

Puzzle??

Best regards,
Eileen

Make sure the board outline is one continous line. ProE will not work if it is
in segments.
