[PCB_FORUM] Re: Placing Parts

Vince,

Sure, easy as pie!

First, delete the test points that you placed with Quickplace. Then, get
into manual placement (Place -> Manually.). Open up the "Components by
refdes" tree. Now, in the "Alphanumeric filter" field, enter "tp*". Click
on one of the test points to the left, and all of the test points should now
have a check mark to the left of them. Just click the first one down where
you want it, and the second one will then be on your cursor to be placed,
etc.

Good luck!

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Placing Parts

Good morning fellow designers . I am just wondering if there is a way to
place components is a somewhat automatic way? For example, I have about 100
test points (all connected to GND) that I need to add. I did a Quickplace
and they are now added to my design and sitting just outside the board
outline. I there a way that I can select them all and place them one at a
time, so that when I place one, another snaps to my cursor ready to placed?
Any ideas to simplify this process would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance to all.
