Yeah, I'll vote for that!  I hate having the pads filled, looks cheesy.  And
too much color in your face, it's distracting to me.  A matter of personal
taste!

Setup - Drawing Options - then uncheck Filled pads.

Under the menu Display => Color Priority, move the color of your pin numbers
to be above the color of your pad color in priority.
