As a Librarian I concur with the rest of the replies in that you MUST
have the specification
before you even start on the library symbols.
Here are a few things to keep in mind.
1) There are some pads on the finger connectors that are shorter than
the rest, so you need
4 padstacks if you want to read the pin numbers all in right reading
position.
(yes, I know about mirroring the pads, but that means you have to
then re-mirror the pin number)
2)The A1-Axx row of pads are on the SECONDARY side of the circuit board.
3) The specification shows a metric and inch measurement for pad
placement. It is advisable to use
the METRIC pitch. 1mm = 0.03937 not 0.039 . This makes a big difference
when the larger versions
are created.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] PCI spec
Good morning all
I have been given a heads up that my next design will be a PCI card.
Having never work with the PCI specification I was hoping I could get
some assistance in the way of a good website. If it's not too much to
ask maybe a .dra file of PCI board outline to get me started.
I have been to a few websites including PCI-sig and their membership fee
just isn't compatible with the small business people like myself.
It's also my first experience with edge-finger connectors. Any
suggestions on this type of footprint would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.
