Normally, I am provided component datasheets to create my Allegro
footprints by the design engineer. I have now been asked to find and
download datasheets to create footprints from a BOM. The BOM has
manufacturers, Panasonic, SANYO, TDK Corp., AVX... etc... 
I began by going to the manufacturers websites and searching for
specific part numbers, but it is a slow, tedious, and often futile
exercise. 
Does anyone have a method, tip, links, or advice on a good method of
finding component PCB layout specifications for different manufacturers
that they could pass along?
I'd really appreciate it.
