Hi Martin,
I usually use valor as that is what we do our checking with, however, I have
used gcprevue as well (use file -> import)....I don't remember ever having
problems with negatives but I can't guarantee that I just haven't happened
to look at a negative artwork in it before either.

Given the 'composite' nature of Allegro's gerbers when created in RS274x
format..

What gerber viewer are you using? And, how painful is it to import the
negative plane layers?
