If we are talking about something that runs "windows style", I prefer
"Diffdog" from http:///www.altova.com.

Normally I would NOT reply to this mailing list but having seen a
request for this 2x in the last few days.
I would invite you to look at cad-e.com's web site and the Doctar
product.
Doctar will compare 2 netlists, 2 .brd files, 2 mentor layout.hkp files,
a .brd to a .hkp a .brd to a gencad file and tell you
what components, comp attributes, network connectivity and/or etch
length changes exist between 2 designs.
It will break down the changes into HTML and Excel reports for easy
review.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] PC equivalent of UNIX command DIFF
Importance: High
Hello Everyone,
I am hoping someone out there has the answer to this one. We need it to
be able to progress a design forward in a "timely" manner. We nee to
know if there is a PC equivalent to the UNIX command DIFF. This would be
for the purpose of comparing 2 files and creating a third with the
differences.
Thanks in advance,
Dharma
