I, too, am a big fan of unix but live in a windows world. 

In order to make windows useful for those simple everyday tasks that unix 

  does without any effort, I found an open source port of the common unix
commands. 

I have it linked on my website. I would have emailed it, but the full zip is
over 3Mb.  

To get it working is pretty simple.

 

1.      Go to my web site at http://www.blomstrom.biz/rob/docs/index.html
and look for the link at the top called ?Unix Zip?
2.      Download the zip file to your drive and extract the files to a
directory like c:\unix
3.      To make the EXE files visible to windows without constantly typing
the full path name, 
add the directory (i.e. C:\unix ) to your path environment variable.

4.      Now you can open a command prompt or use a BAT file like in unix.

Hello Everyone,

I am hoping someone out there has the answer to this one. We need it to be
able to progress a design forward in a "timely" manner. We nee to know if
there is a PC equivalent to the UNIX command DIFF. This would be for the
purpose of comparing 2 files and creating a third with the differences.
