[PCB_FORUM] Re: Logic synchronization failed during "update symbols" in Allegro

You need to place step 5 before step 3. You need to specify
gen_subdesign prior
to packaging your layout for the .mdd. Gen_subdesign generates a
.state file in
the packager which you need later on when packaging the entire
design. So for
your example you'd have a state file called
pxl_TOP_BOTTOM_ANALOG.state in the
packaged directory. You also need to add subdesign_suffix and
reuse_module properties
to each block at the top level schematic. And the
pxl_TOP_BOTTOM_ANALOG.state file
needs to reside in the packaged directory for the top level
schematic prior to packaging
        the entire schematic.

        Hope this helps,
        Mike

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Logic synchronization failed during "update
symbols" in Allegro

Dear All,

In conceptdhl we're using one block which is repeated several times. We
use this module in allegro to ease the layout.

The steps we take in order to create the module are:
1 - in project manager setup we choose the "Design Name" of the block
which will be copied several times, lets call it "TOP_BOTTOM_ANALOG".

2 - Open the "Design Entry" and create the desired schematics

3 - Then "Package Design" and create the layout of that specific block,
lets call it "TOP_BOTTOM_ANALOG".

4 - in Allegro we create the module and call it top_bottom_analog.mdd"

5 - In "Export Physical" "Advanced" "Subdesign" I add the name
"TOP_BOTTOM_ANALOG" in the "Generate Subdesign" and package the design
again.

6 - then select project manager's setup and select our TOP design, where
several copies of "TOP_BOTTOM_ANALOG" are present.

7 - In "Export Physical" "Advanced" "Subdesign" I add the name
"multi_block" in the "force Subdesign" and package the entire design.

At this point we had already done several "export Physical", and during
this process everything does fine.

8 - But now when we "update symbols" we get several warnings which we
cannot understand.

The components are already placed within the module but we don't fully
understand "Logic synchronization failed. Continuing." message really
means. I've tried googling and on Allegro's documentation and nothing.

Does anyone know what does this mean and how to sort it out?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Rui
