[PCB_FORUM] Re: Is there a way to step and repeat placement for identical circuits on the same PCB?

Hi Dale,

I found a pretty easy way to do this. I exported the placement file, then
edited it. Because of my schematic methodology, where a complete circuit is
on one schematic sheet, and because I name my REFDESs on a per sheet basis
(IOW, the REFDES of the same component on each page is simply incremented by
100...for example R112 on page 1 is R212 on page 2), that makes editing the
placement file easy. Importing back in, gave me exactly the placement I
wanted. Then, simply copying clines & vias worked perfectly. So,
basically, I spend 6 hours placing one circuit, and making three other
copies of it took ten minutes.

Best Regards,

Austin
