I am not up to 15.2 yet, but i have always just used the autosilk to clear
things like vias and pads.
I usu just orient all the actual silkscreen elements (not the auto silk) and
then place by hand.
Not optimum, but my boards are usu so tight that i am not happy with the
auto silk.
