We find the best coverage is using both SPECCTRA and Allegro. The two
ICT programs approach coverage from slightly different points of view
ands are, in fact, complementary (ie better coverage using both
together rather than either individually).
SPECCTRA allows controlled 'antenna length' for the testpoints so you
can progressively apply test coverage by criticalitry of antenna stub
(clocks with zero length first, then addr/data of 100 mils, 200 mils, etc).
ICT is a relational task and highly dependent on locating the next
testpoint spaced from earlier testpoints, so the sequence of approach
can produce different results.
Additionally, SPECCTRA operates on selected items so by unselected
JTAG you can exclude the JTAG pins from the required coverage list.
Hope this helps,
David

Allegro or Specctra?
David Price if you are there, as you know we have Make Do.
Just wanted to check with the group to see which tool is easier to use.
Thanks,
Mark
