Unfortunatly , the Allegro Gerber RS274X importer is not generic in the sense 
that it reads Gerber RS274X from any other tool.
It is quit rigidly limited to the "dialect" of Gerber generated from Allero 
itself.

This doesn't mean that it is impossible to import gerbers from other tools. I 
have done it several times, and have read Gerber successfully into Allegro from 
at least three different brands of tools.
What's required is some pre-processing of the Gerber before reading it into a 
Allegro, with the purpose to tweak it into the Gerber "dialect" Allegro can 
import.
The pre-processing can be done with any text editor capable to handle regular 
expressions and global substitutions, such as emacs, vi, gvim etc.
The things you have to adjust normally involves levels of modality, inserting 
line breaks etc.

Just create a Gerber RS274X file from Allegro, and compare its syntax with the 
Gerber from the other tool. Then fix the differences, so it appears as an 
Allegro generated Gerber.
Normally it isn't too complicated.

Hi Everyone,
We are trying to import rs274x gerbers from another tool into allegro.
However, we are having issues doing so. Firstly we are unable to load them as 
274x at all ( allegro aborts the load). So we have created an aperture list and 
tried to import them as gerber 4 or 6 but then they come in on the wrong scale. 
We have already tried re-outputting the rs274x from valor but that does not 
work either. Any ideas? We would prefer to get them in as 274x first shot but 
knowing that allegro doesn't always play nice with others is there a way to 
scale them?
