The problem here is that not everyone is ready to make the transition to 15 and
we still need to
trade files.
Thanks, I did figure out already that changing the CDSROOT variable would allow
me to run both
versions,
but I'm afraid to really push forward now until the rest of group is all on the
same page.

There is no backward compatibility.
You can keep 14.2 and load 15.2 and by changing your CDSROOT path you can
switch between the two levels.
To gain familiarity with 15.2 you may want to take some smaller designs forward.
I have not lost any constraints, but diff pair constraints are a bit different.
There are
new properties that are added to pairs, and the pairs are grouped under the
Constraint Manager. Most likely you'll need to edit that information to get
back to
where you were.
On the positive side, the diff pair checking is better. You'll actually be able
to see
any points where you exceed primary gap above your allowance. The dynamic
shapes are good. They do have some quirks. For some reason, my shape fill
occasionally disables itself. Manual routing "feel" is different, and most
important
with this is that there is now a right mouse button with more options, you'll
discover
that if you need to modify a diff pair.
Otherwise it is very much the same as 14.2

Before I take the plunge into 15.2, what options exist for porting board files
back into 14.2?
Are there any other methods besides just creating a clip file of the entire
design?
I'm concerned about losing constraints, cam, etc.
