[PCB_FORUM] Re: Gerbers to placement file

I hope you've given your customer a premilinary quote for this task. I can
forsee this turning into a HUGE job, and the customer might be floored
when he/she gets the final bill. To read in the gerbers, make dummy
symbols for any parts you might not have, place symols, etc. could be a
couple weeks to get right. Do you have an assembly print to look at? How
would you determine the difference between 3 - 2 pin headers, and 1 - 2x6
pin header, for instance? Bit, if you're getting time-n-material for this
job, could be a money maker... But, I don't think it will be (just my
opinion).
