well I never did check sourcelink but did run searches on all the documentation
I have for 15.2, I don't have 15.1 or 15.0 installed anymore, no need for those
releases and don't have time or disk space to install them right now for that.
Mike no need to spend your valuable time looking, you need to concentrate on
CDNLive, for them problem is solved now I just get very frustrated with
cadence's documentation where its obvious that there is a lot of focus on
things like tool name changes which have no value added for the end user and
things such as this go by unmentioned in the documentation. BTW when I pull up
the documentation isn't it reading it from Cadence through the internet via a
browser in my case netscape. If so why would a search not find the same info on
sourcelink?

BTW if anyone from EMA is out there listening the output can indeed be
generated from 15.2, there is a post in the archives that states EMA said the
output could not be generated.

Thanks all for your once again this forum proves its value added to the users!

Carl,

I deleted/commented out these entries as well to get past this issue. I
have
seen this a while back and I thought I found something on Sourcelink or in
the Documentation that indicated that they were obsoleted starting from PSD
15.0.
I don't remember where at this point but if I find it I will let you know.

Mike

Carl,

Cadence eliminated all three of these:
COMP_RATED_CURRENT
COMP_RATED_POWER
COMP_RATED_VOLTAGE

Even though reassigning these to existing ones can correct the errors I
have chosen to delete these three lines from the parts.txt file and all
is well.

Thanks

Thanks Jim I fixed it myself with your help in pointing me in the right
direction, no thanks to cadence whose documentation makes no mention of
the name changes and in some cases such as COMP_RATED_CURRENT just
outright deleted from existence! I was able to produce the same
formatted output in 14.2 by reading the manual on the Extract Data
Dictionary. I changed the cds2fab script component view extract for the
following fields.

COMP_RATED_CURRENT to COMP_MAX_POWER_DISS_DEVICE COMP_RATED_POWER to
COMP_MAX_POWER_DISS COMP_RATED_VOLTAGE to COMP_VOLT_TEMP_MODEL

those were the offending fields which used to work in 14.2 and now don't
15.2, I'm pretty sure that those field don't align as 1 to 1 swap, but
we never populated the 3 fields COMP_RATED_CURRENT, COMP_RATED_POWER,
COMP_RATED_VOLTAGE in allegro with any data anyway there fore they
always output at the end the line as !!!. The fields I chose to replace
to hold the output with the same number of fields we also ones that we
don't populate with data and are kind of close I guess.

Again thanks James

Hope this helps all

Hi Carl,

Yes, the extract view names have changed for 15.2. You need a new config
file from Fabmaster.

discussed before out here, but looking through the archives which are a
great resource I can't seem to find if anyone has successfully output
this file and delivered it to the assembly plant whether its contract or
in house and the assembler was able to use the output. I have recently
run the cds2fab program which generates the paymaster output but my
contract manufacturer Sanmina has stated that the format has changed and
all I have done different is run it on a 15.2 design database. I
compared the files myself and have noticed huge chunks of data missing
related to field associated with extract views. Does anyone know if the
extract view field names for views have changed in 15.2?
