Vince,
I think this is a better way to handle custom menu files:
- in your "env" file, have the entry "set MENUPATH = C:/pcbenv
$MENUPATH"
- copy the menu file into your pcbenv directory and edit as you
wish
By the way, the menu file for the symbol editor is "cbdsymbol.mem".

that showed me exactly how to change or add items to the main menu in
Allegro.

It will show exactly what to do and how to do it. Word of warning .. Make a
backup of any files before you start to change them
