Thanks Lynn, that points us in a better direction. Now, to figure out: A)how to put all three forms into one and, B)how to make the routine that runs control panel call out a different form -----Original Message----- From: icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Isaacson, Lynn Sent: Monday, April 25, 2005 4:05 PM To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: Dear Cadence OOPs, I forgot to add the others: setwindow form.mini setwindow form.find setwindow form.vf_vis Lynn Isaacson, C.I.D.+ IPC Certified Advanced Interconnect Designer Principal PCB Layout Technician Medtronic Emergency Response Systems Direct: 425-867-4443 Fax: 425-867-4462 E-mail: lynn.isaacson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 25, 2005 3:59 PM To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: Dear Cadence The form that has tabs with Find, Option, and visibility is mini.form It's located under: ...share\pcb\text\forms... If you want to find the other forms that are called by a command: record a script, open the form, make a change to the form (you have to do this), then stop the script. In the script file you'll see setwindow form.formname -where formname is the name of the form... this might help in your searching... The suggestion was an attempt to bubble an idea to the surface, with what I think is a useful alternative to the current 'tabbed' window. In that, when torn off, it can be re-sized like any other window. With all the extra space provided with re-sizing, why not have all the tabs visible at once? The effort is to reduce clicks and mouse navigation. Douglas Stanley had a great idea, one which I've also used to tweak forms. Thanks Douglas. I did find only one file called 'findwin.form' which represents the 'Find' tab. I haven't found the others yet, and frankly, am not sure what I would do to tweak these all into one. Will keep trying though.. You can unattach the control window and make it as wide as you want. You are correct that you can't see all of the tabs at once, but I don't think that there is any tool with tabs that lets you do that, why have tabs if you want to see everything at the same time? I have the control window on my second screen all of the time. I don't even remember how to unattach it any more. I'll go check it now. Hold on a second. Got it. Go to view>customization>display and set the control panel to undock. That's it! Enjoy.
