But, don't the two nets end up indistinguishable in Allegro?  If all GND
gets converted to AGND, you can't highlight them in different colors or make
some other visual indication so when you're placing parts, you keep the
right parts/pins on the corresponding side of the GND/AGND division.

I like keeping the signal names separate so the ratsnets show up differently
and I can highlight the two different grounds in different shades of green,
making it easy to see where the barrier has to go and whether I have
anything on the "wrong" side of the wall, one way or t'other.

If you short together two signals in ConceptHDL, it picks the alphabetically
first one.  So in this case, as far as Allegro is concerned, everything
becomes AGND.  But this method does work.  It's what we do.
