[PCB_FORUM] Re: Copying planes

Gary,

The two methods are really the same except you have more
flexibility with the "Copy to Layers" sub-menu. For example, with
Edit > Z-Copy you have the ability to use wildcards for the
subclass names so if your GND planes subclasses have GND
in the name you can simply type the wildcard *GND*.

The one advantage using the "Copy to Layers" sub-menu is
the ability to copy across multiple Classes at the same time which
is something that cannot be done using Edit > Z-Copy.

My two cents,

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Copying planes

Say guys,

Which method do you typically use to copy a shape for a second ground
plane?
Edit -> Z-Copy or the sub-menu "Copy to Layers" available when a shape is
selected through Shape -> Select Shape or Void? Have you noticed any great
benefit of using one over the other, besides the obvious one of being able
to copy to several layers at once with the sub-menu method?

Thanks for any responses!
