I don't think I have ever figured out how to get the pin numbers
turned off. Good luck there. Anyone?

As to making a searchable pdf, you need to make the font a standard
windows font. When you plot to the pdf driver you can set the font
under file>plot setup. Pick whichever font you like the best. It
takes some experimenting as the windows fonts don't fit the same
as the vector font in the schematic. So plot a few pages and look at
them until you get one that is workable.
