[PCB_FORUM] Cadence Maintenance Fees

Hi,

Is it just my company, or has anyone else noticed the more than 50%
increase in maintenance fees recently implemented by Cadence?  I have 3
seats of PCB Designer CIS with the Allegro Performance option.  The
explanation I got from Cadence is they felt that folks were getting way
too much, incrementally, when purchasing Expert over Performance for the
price difference between them.  So they raised the base price for
Performance to $15,000 (was $9995) as well as the maintenance fees to
$2700 (was $1600).  Obviously this is a ploy to get people to by more
Expert software at the expense of the smaller accounts who may not be
able to afford it.  I for one, am outraged.
