Just to let all of you know the solution to this issue...
It turned out that some headers (names at the top of the columns) in our Access
database, some variables were spelled in mixed case (upper and lower case...
such as "Schematic_Part") while some other headers were all lower case (such as
"schematic_part").
Allegro (actually Capture CIS) did not like this and would not display the
contents of all the columns in in a query. ("Link database part" is a query on
a key... such as "value")
Once I made sure that all the variables were exactly alike (same case) then it
all worked fine.
Small, but mind numbing detail.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] CIS issue -- link database part with strange
results
I am using Capture CIS, and have my parts built using an Access database...
recently some of my engineers have noticed problems when doing a "link database
part..." The database comes up with the right value (in this instance 100 for
a 100 ohm resistor) and brings up the potentiometer library table and several
resistor library tables.
But the resistor library tables are showing incomplete data... the information
is in the database, but within part manager, the data is missing. This is
critical data missing such as the data sheet link and the symbol link.
The part table in the lowest window is missing critical data, but the grayed
window shows that most of it is there...
Any ideas?
