[PCB_FORUM] Re: CDC2FAB and allegro 15.5

Dharma,

In the CDC2FAB Utility make sure the Configuration is pointing to your 15.5 Extracta utility,
Mine works fine :

i.e.  File > Configue
    - Exteraction tools =  $CDS_ROOT$\tools\pcb\bin\extracta.exe

D:\Cadence\spb1551\tools\pcb\bin\extracta.exe

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] CDC2FAB and allegro 15.5

Hello Again,
We seem to be beset by stumpers lately. :-)
We have been using 15.5 for some time now but apparently no-one has used any of the version specific features until recently. Therefore, I have always been able to open the board in 15.2 and do other things with it like run CDC2FAB for the .cad file output for a particular customer. I received a board from 15.5 that I cannot open in 15.2 nor can I run my CDC2FAB on it. Being able to offer this output format is critical with this particular customer however so far I cannot find a solution that would not require us to purchase software that would be overkill for our needs ( we do not need the entire fabmaster, unicam, gencad, harmony etc. program just the ability to output the . cad file!). For this particular board we were able to downrev to 15.2 (and run CDC2fab on that) and do not appear to have lost anything integral but that may not be the case in the future. (In addition to the fact that there is not much point in having to downrev all our boards so that we might as well not even have 15.5) I have been through the pcb forum archives, sourcelink, and cdnusers, etc. and have found nothing so far that helps me. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Dharma
