[PCB_FORUM] Re: CDC2FAB and allegro 15.5

Perhaps it would help to know what type of data could be removed by
bringing it down to 15.2. I haven't looked at this for a while but I
have log files that explain what could be lost by a downrev.

I hope this helps,

Regards,
Barbara Seeger - Cadence

Example output information in downrev Logs:

1) The following information has been permanently removed from your design:
   - ALL LEF/DEF data for all die components.
This information cannot be restored through uprev. It has been permanently lost.

2) Downrev will delete any match group that has members
in multiple match groups and change single match groups to
v15.0 format.
  - Revised match group M1
  - Revised match group M5
  - Revised match group A1

3) Remove drill legend group - DRILL_LEGEND_1_2

4) *Other items that will effect 15.2 to 15.0 conversions if utilized.

Use of Diff Pair Gap by Subclass:
When opening a version 15.2 design in version 15.0, downrev is transparent.
The physical differential pair gap rules are maintained in the database while
running version 15.0 or 15.1, but they do not generate DRCs. Once you take
advantage of the Diffpair By Layer feature in version 15.2 and then open the
design in a version 15.0 or 15.1 environment, Allegro/APD cannot perform
differential pair gap checks in those versions.

Pin and Z-axis Delay Constraints:

When opening a design in version 15.0, analysis results for propagation
delay and phase control will differ
than the results in 15.2 if these electrical constraints are enabled.

Drill/Slot Information:
When opening a design in version 15.0, slot objects are converted to a drill
size that represents the minor
dimension of the slot. Drill customization changes are reset to the original
design parameters.

Thermal Spoke Width:
If you take advantage of "fixed thermal widths" in version 15.2 and then
downrev to version 15.0, updates
or modifications to these shapes will revert to the thermal width DRC value.

Dynamic Shape minimum aperture override applied to shapes. Will be deleted,
apertures will revert to global
value.
