        Typically anything I use is for silkscreen, for a logo I just load the
        file in Allegro (loads to a pen number) they add a shape, using lines
        and arcs on a silkscreen layer. Then delete the lines on the pen layer.
        Makes a solid shape.

    I usually load the file onto a bsm and place it at the board level,
this also allows you to put it in a library
    for future use. Also allows for easy movement.

I agree with George.  The lines are annoying especially if you have to
move the image.

RATA can work as a base, but I would avoid using RATA's lined graphics
in the actual database database.

        I seem to remember that somewhere there was a way to convert a
bmp file into something that Allegro could read in, and use on a board.
