Hi Gene,

We do our BOMs in Excel, so we use the COMMENTS notation in the schematic
properties. When we run the BOM it puts DNI in the comments section of the
BOM (which is defined in that particular component's properties).

Beware! You have to make sure the engineers understand what happens when
they use COMMENT instead of COMMENTS. The plural notation makes all the
difference in the world (been there, done that!)

You could make the Field say anything, like DNI as a comment would output
YES for example. Whatever you use, you'll need consistancy.  :)
