Gene,
We make up a part number "No_Pop" with
a description in our MRP system of " Parts that are not place on the
board" and
assign it to the No pop parts.
In the BOM extraction, we get:
P/N Description Ref
C-052, Cap, .001uf, 0603, C80-C90, C101
R-100, Resistor, 50 ohms, 0402, R1, R3, R4
NO_POP, Parts that are not place on the board, C100, C900, R2, R5, U5 etc.
This provides a cross check to the CM that the empty spots
are really supposed to be that way.

Looking for suggestions on the best way to handle Do Not Install
BOM parts in CIS.
Anybody have any suggestions on how you do this.
Some may call these DNI or Do Not Place (DNP) lists.
Perhaps variant lists are the best way, but I am looking for
suggestions.
