Ron, In version 15.2 when you use the copy command you can check the "retain net of vias" located in the options tab. This will keep the vias you are copying associated to the net they are on. If you are clipping in a bunch of vias and do not want them to connect to ground planes? Temporarily change your ground planes in the cross section to negative - clip in - then change them back. If you have planes on signal layers with routing - move the planes temporarily off the board. move ix 10000 then move it back ix -10000. If I have a standalone via, it is assigned a ground net charateristic. I like to group vias when working with power distribution but it doesn't do me any good when all the standalone vias are ground. 2. Very elementary, but I can't add vias to my via list.
