[PCB_FORUM] Re: 15.7 - Out of date dynamic shape - "No Etch"...

I just logged in, Don't know what caused it. But it happens to all,
now and then, I was going suggest the boundary outline also.

It seems to happen to me most often in dynamic shapes. I even go so far
as to frequently save as xx.brd .... Often when putting in the power
planes, at some point the above will happen, and it won't be that easy
to find, you will resort, to opening a last saved *.brd

Make sure your shapes are up to date, make sure you run db doctor, now
and then when putting in the power planes.

And if you do a lot of gnd via stiching,,,,,,you might want to change
smooth setting to rough, depending on your board size and what kind of
pc you have adding gnd via stiching in dynamic shapes set to smooth, can
get real slow, and don't forget, frequently save as xx.brd, run db
doctor, you can always delete the extra files when you finish...

Hi Jean,

That worked! Thank you very much.

What is it that caused that? Is it just some random mistake when making
shapes?

Regards,

Austin

Go to the color menu and in addition to the "etch" color item
for that layer, turn on the "boundary" color item. You should be able to
see it and delete it then.

Etch"...

        Hi,

I have one shape that is claimed to be "out of date" and has a
"No Etch"

status. But, I can't find the shape it's complaining about (or
delete

it)... It says it's at a particular XY location, on a
particular layer, but

there is nothing there. There was a shape there, and I've
deleted that

shape...but the "error" persists after the shape has been
deleted.

Anyone seen this before? Any idea how to "cure" it?

        Thanks,

        Austin
