Actually this site doesn't need the "www." (In fact most sites today can
do without that prefix, glad to say. But that's by the by.)
You'd think the PDF spec would allow recognize-and-make-live of a bit of
text marked in the original document as a hyperlink, ideally using some
sort of style tag -- same idea as an <a href> tag in an HTML doc.
It already does. The original document's editor is completely at liberty to
inform the PDF creator by means of PDFMark data that given areas of pages
are hyperlinks to wherever it wishes. That's exactly what TechWriter will be
doing.
Comparing PDF to HTML markup suggests a fundamental misunderstanding of the
two formats, and the differences between them.
Or maybe it's already in the spec but Foxit doesn't support it yet? What
about competing PDF generators such as Adobe? Or upstart ones that aren't
yet household names?
Foxit is a viewer, not a PDF generator.
