Hi Mike

thanks for the response, but no combination of first line and indentation
markers I have yet tried gives me the desired layout:

o  Xxxxxx xxxxx
xxxxx  xxxx  xxxx

In experimenting, I have achieved all of the following list layouts, but
still not the one I'm after:

  oXxxxxx xxxx
xxxxx xxxxx xxxx

  oXxxxxx xxxx
  xxxx xxxxxxxx

  o  Xxxxx xxxx xxxxxxxx
     xxxxxx xxxxx xxxx

    oXxxxxx xxxx
  xxxxx xxxxx xxxx

    oXxxxxx xxxx
    xxxx xxxxxxxx

    o  Xxxxx xxxx xxxxxxxx
       xxxx xxxx xxxx

In any case, if you don't get a tab when the docs say you do, then the
documentation is definitely wrong.
