[icon-discuss] icon braille plus not recognized in disk drive mode on mac

hi list,
a few Macintosh related interface questions regarding the braille plus also,
other off topic questions regarding virtual PC for the mac and adaptive
technology.

is there a work around for this? i was flummoxed when it was not recognized.
I will be getting virtual PC for my machine at work soon. (from what i know
there are two, or possibly three types as i understand it so far?
Parallels, Virtual PC or the same software renamed as VM Ware Fusion)
wil installing any of the above software make the braille plus work with the
pc interface on a mac? is it possible to install the sync CD for the braille
plus onto the mac directly? i would imagine i still need to run virtual pc
to do anything with the icon and interfacing with the mac environment.

also, please write me off list if anyone has any experience with Voice Over
on the mac running leopard. for some reason Microsoft word can be navigated
in regards to buttons and controls, but it will not read the text in the
edit pane, where the text lives! I'm brand new to this Voice Over thing, so
if anyone has any tips, I would love to hear about them. Also, does mac have
a utility to o.c.r PDF files built in? I plan on using one of the PC
interface programs to run window eyes, Kurzweil and hopefully my braille
note as a braille display. I have no idea if VM Ware fusion will do anything
I need it to, so any info, again, would be greatly appreciated.
