Hello: It is probably the order in which you are doing things that is tripping you up and not really a bug. In order to connect the braille plus with a braille display, via blue tooth, you do not want to use the Blue Tooth Manager--although it may seem logical to do so, it was not meant to work that way. Doing it this way will cause the connection to fail every time. Usually, people tend to tap the program 1 key which turns on blue tooth. Program 1 key has two functions--tapping it turns on blue tooth, and holding it down for about 3 seconds turns on braille manager. You want to connect the braille display with the Braille Manager, by holding down that program 1 key, instead of tapping it. . Here are the steps: 1. Press and hold the program 1 key for at least 3 seconds (do not tap this). 2. Press select to add a new braille display. 3. You will be asked how your display is connected. 4. Choose blue tooth, if that is what you want. 5. Blue tooth will be turned on (this is the important difference, as it is turned on later in the correct sequence, not at the beginning). 6. Choose your braille display from the list of blue tooth devices. 7. Choose APH Refreshabraille. 8. Enter the pin. Trouble shooting tips: 1. If you have done this previously and failed, you will need to turn off blue tooth, so that the braille manager will be able to turn blue tooth on properly. To do this, tap the program 1 key (do not hold) and press the menu key and select "turn off blue tooth." 2. If, after going through the steps the connection is not successful, then you will need to reflash and start over. The important thing, though, is to hold down the program 1 key, instead of just tapping it. You can also add a braille display in the settings/braille menu, but I have given you the short cut keys. Please contact APH, if you need additional assistance or have any questions. -----Original Message----- From: icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ivan Cardenas Sent: Thursday, May 05, 2011 3:07 PM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [icon-discuss] bloutooth bug For some reaon, every time I try to connect braille pluss and the refresha braille display via bluetooth, the bluetooth manniger fails to connect.
